The Welsh Government is holding a series of open meetings at its regional offices to hear the views of interested parties on how to improve the innovation performance of Wales.
The meetings form part of a Wales-wide consultation on the development of an Innovation Strategy for Wales. It will build on the Science for Wales strategy launched earlier this year, which identified the need for a current complementary strategy to deal with the commercial exploitation of research and development and also the promotion of innovation.
Business Minister Edwina Hart comments: “Innovation is recognised as one of the key drivers for economic growth and job creation. It is also considered by many to be the best way that society can address developing challenges such as an ageing population and resource scarcity and to improve the delivery of public services.”
Innovation specialists will also be on hand at the meetings to discuss how they can help individual businesses and information on Innovation Funding and Support will also be available.
