LA Design have played a pivotal role in the design and launch of ELGA’s new, state-of-the-art PURELAB flex Water Purification System, recently launched at Achema 2009.

PURELAB flex is the first standalone benchtop dispensing system to integrate in hand monitoring and accurate pure water dispensing into a small footprint product. Its ease of use, flexibility and clear display of water purity allows scientists to concentrate on their science, whether in chemistry, life science research or in the test laboratory.

“LA has built up a strong relationship with ELGA over a number of years, based on the value of good design, both as a business tool to increase market share as well as its effect on how a company is perceived”. LA Partner, David Robinson says “This is the first time we were able to create and promote a valuable addition to ELGA’s raange of Water Purification Systems. Utilising the same data that we create for manufacture, we were able to produce an impressive and engaging pre-launch video, to promote the product and it’s functionality to ELGA’s sales team. This allowed them to contribute to the final design as well as receive their feedback.

A punchier, edited Blu-Ray version was created more recently as the product launch video for Achema”.

Taking this ‘motion graphics’ route, presented the product in a realistic and animated format to the sales team at an early stage, giving them the opportunity to question and understand the USP’s of the new product, and to speak with their customers with confidence and enthusiasm about the forthcoming launch and to take pre-show orders.

LA Forefront was used to gain valuable real-world insight into potential customer’s use of purified water, dispenser products and their environment. This research contributed directly to the PURELAB flex’s unique and ergonomic design.

The dispense handset has precise fingertip control and feels intuitive in use. Simple to dispense with single or programmed pre-set volumes, user settings can also be customised via the web and uploaded via the integral USB port in seconds. Consumables can be changed with less effort than an inkjet printer.
