University Design Industry Partnership
About us
UDIP logo JPEg formatThe BDI University Design Industry Partnership (UDIP) is the first formal alliance of its kind in the UK. It was created in May 2010 to benefit BDI and University members and the UK economy as whole, and to improve and develop collaborative activities in support of design and innovation. Our partnership seeks to bring the industrial design community and academia closer together to forge stronger links to address a number of issues affecting the growth and quality of the design industry.
Collaboration is now an essential ingredient in all aspects of innovation and UDIP is working with businesses and other organisations to resolve today’s social and commercial challenges, focusing on three themes:
Innovation: Creating new collaborative working models and methodologies to convert academic research into commercial opportunities.
Talent: Contributing to the nurture and growth of the next generation of design talent.
Engagement: Providing space for effective dialogue between BDI UDIP members and the wider world.

If you are a University who shares our goals and is interested in becoming a member, please contact us on 01273 621376 or email [email protected]
