Drivers of Change: an essential report on service futures
20 August 2012

BDI member Engine Service Design commissioned a report based on their learnings over the last ten years that by designing services, they are often meeting an organisational challenge. The report explores how the subject for design has extended beyond service products to the people, processes, purpose and culture of organisations and industries.
Carried out by Lucy Kimbell on Engine’s behalf, and with a foreword from director Joe Heapy, the report looks to capture the significant drivers that are shaping the contexts and opportunities for business through legislation, lifestyle and consumer choices.
Drawn from Engine’s own experience, published research and insights from 11 interviews with practitioners across industries, this report does not aim to provide all the answers. It doesn’t draw conclusions or fix Engine’s point of view.
Its specific purpose is to stimulate discussion and debate within both service and non-service organisations.
