BDI member has been working with Ash Reza, one of the potential entrepreneurs taking part in the BBC’s Be you Own Boss, to create the Myyfeed® a unique and novel feeding bottle.
Be Your Own Boss is a brand new BBC Three series fronted by a co-founder of Innocent Smoothies, Richard Reed. Richard’s aim is to help new business talent to turn their business dream into reality by offering them the chance to win part of a £1 million investment pot.
Ash was the only entrepreneur to use a professional design company to help design his product. Inspired by the problems his sister faced when trying to feed her child formula milk while on the move, he approached 3form with an outline idea and a baby feeding device.
3fD grabbed the idea and took Ash through the first couple of concept stages, giving him a set of story boards and a final . Instead of sitting in front of Richard on his own as a one-man band, Ash was able to present a viable, route-to-market product and access to full manufacturing (in China) - 3fD’s design and build solution.
The Myyfeed® (now a patent pending technology) stores a measured amount of hot water and Formula milk powder separately in one device. When the feed is due you activate it to mix the hot water with the Formula Milk powder and then attaching a teat to transform it into a baby feeding bottle.
Will using professional product design help Ash win? Check out the programme on BBC3 on Wed 4 October at 9pm, where Richard Branson is part of the panel, to find out...
